An interactive portrait of community support

This exhibition showcases 100 handmade ceramic mugs created by 10 local artists in an installation that evolves over the course of the show.  As a mug is purchased it is replaced with a photograph of its new owner, each photograph marking the moment a connection was made. Throughout the week the exhibition will transform from a display of handmade vessels into a growing portrait of community support. By documenting this exchange, we highlight the living relationship between artist and audience. This exhibition is as much about community as it is about clay. It honours not just what is made, but how it is sustained, through a
shared value in handmade.

Mugshots coincides with NCECA Detroit (the largest ceramics exhibition in the world and the first time Detroit has hosted) and is the only Canadian Featured Exhibition during the week-long event.

Thank you to the City Of Windsor Arts Culture and Heritage Fund for their generous support of this project.
